An actress and singer, Selena Gomez began her career as a child star. Born in 1992 in New York City, Gomez grew up in Texas and got her first break as a cast member on the kids TV show #Barney and Friends. From there she worked in several Disney Channel productions including #The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, #Hannah Montana, and #The Wizards of Waverly Place. She also appeared in the 2003 film #Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. An avid singer, Gomez has also recorded songs for several of her Disney projects, including the soundtracks to #Wizards of Waverly Place and the 2008 musical #Another Cinderella Story.
