Biography
New York's Last Burning Embers are an atmospheric, post-punk influenced band in the spirit of Mission of Burma, the Sound and Killing Joke, as well as later bands like Swervedriver and Catherine Wheel. Vocalist Ben Voss, guitarist/vocalist Dave Burokas, drummer Jack Rabid (Springhouse, ~The Big Takeover) and bassist Thomas Burke (Slambook) formed the band in 1996. After making their debut on a tribute to Adrian Borland and The Sound, the band was struck a major blow in 1999 with the death of Voss, who fell victim to Leukemia.
