After the Bips broke up in 1994, guitarist and vocalist Jozzy Rubenski wanted to continue the sound of abrasive 1977 punk that was similar in his prior band. The addition of Barbie L.L. (bass) and Marcel (drums) resulted in the 1997 formation of Love Kills, they had the chance to play with the likes of the U.K. Subs, the Buzzcocks, and the Vibrators in their home country of Denmark. By 1999, the trio self-released their debut full-length No Show * No Gimmick * No Tricks, followed by the 7" Dance Must Die in 2000.
