Angel got her start in the entertainment industry while still a child, taking singing and dancing lessons and learning a bit of piano. She signed with Jive Records at 13, and joined a teen pop combo called No Secrets. The group debuted in 2001, backing up pin-up sensation Aaron Carter on songs like "Stride [Jump on the Fizzy]" and "Oh Aaron." No Secrets' eponymous full-length arrived a year later and generated some buzz in the Radio Disney universe, most notably with their bubbly cover of the Kim Wilde classic "Kids in America" for the #Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius soundtrack. After No Secrets' dissolution, Angel became the initial signee to L.A.-based Midas Records.
